1. Who we are
Solar Rust is an online community that runs Rust game servers. It is run from the United Kingdom by its owner, trading as Solar Rust. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Solar Rust, and "you" means the person using the Services.

Payments. Every Store purchase is sold and charged by PayNow Services, Inc. as merchant of record (section 9). For anything about a payment, a charge, a receipt or a refund, contact PayNow using the support details on your PayNow receipt email or at paynow.gg. We can still help with anything about the Paid Content itself through a ticket.
2. These terms
These terms apply when you use the Servers, the Website, our Discord server or the Store. By using any of them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your personal data, and our Cookie Notice explains what the Website stores on your device.
3. Definitions
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Services | The Servers, the Website, our Discord server and the Store. |
| Servers | The Rust game servers we run. |
| Website | solarrust.net and its subdomains. |
| Store | The shop on the Website where Paid Content is sold. PayNow runs the checkout. |
| Paid Content | Anything bought from the Store, such as kits, the bundle and shop points, whether it is a one-off purchase or a Subscription. |
| Subscription | Paid Content that renews and is charged automatically until you cancel it. 1 Month and 3 Month kits are Subscriptions. |
| Wipe Pass | A kit that lasts 3 days, paid for once. It does not renew. |
| Lifetime | Paid Content with no end date that lasts for as long as we run the Server it is for, or a Server we move it to under section 13. It means the lifetime of the Server, not your lifetime, and it is not a promise that any Server will run forever. |
| Wipe | A reset of a Server's map and player data, including buildings, items and progress. |
| Virtual Items | In-game items, kits, perks, commands, shop points and cosmetic features, whether bought or earned in game. They cannot be exchanged for money. |
4. Who can use the Services
You must be 16 or older to use the Services. This matches Rust's PEGI 16 age rating. You must also meet Steam's and Discord's own age requirements.
If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian before you buy anything from the Store.
If we find out that someone under 16 is using the Services, we will remove their access. A parent or guardian can contact us about any purchases they made. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with data about children.
5. Unofficial server
Solar Rust is an unofficial community server. It is not run by, affiliated with or endorsed by Facepunch Studios. Rust is owned by Facepunch Studios, and Facepunch's own terms also apply to your use of the game.
6. The Services
We run community Rust servers and the Website, Discord server and Store that go with them. We work to keep them running, but we cannot promise they will always be available or free of faults. Rust updates, hosting problems and maintenance can take a Server offline.
We may change the Services, for example by adding or removing Servers, changing wipe schedules or changing game settings. Section 13 explains what happens to Paid Content if we close a Server or the Services.
7. Rules and acceptable use
You must follow the rules on our Rules page. They cover the Servers, teaming and our Discord server. We may update them, and the current version applies. Not knowing a rule does not excuse breaking it.
You must also not:
- use another account, a VPN or any other method to get around a ban or mute;
- sell, trade or transfer Paid Content, Virtual Items or accounts for real money;
- pretend to be a member of staff or claim to speak for Solar Rust;
- attack, overload or try to get unauthorised access to the Servers, the Website or our other systems;
- post or link to illegal material anywhere on the Services, including on signs in game; or
- use the Services to break the law.
You are responsible for what you post in game chat, on signs and in our Discord server. We can remove anything that breaks these terms or the rules.
8. Sanctions and appeals
If you break these terms or the rules, staff can act. What they do depends on the rule broken, the circumstances and your history. They can:
- warn you;
- mute you in game or in our Discord server;
- kick you from a Server;
- remove bases, items or anything else gained by breaking the rules;
- remove you from the leaderboard and void your stats for the Wipe; or
- ban you from one or more Servers or from our Discord server, for a set time or permanently.
Anyone banned for cheating is removed from the leaderboard and has their stats voided for that Wipe. Our chat filters mute players automatically, and those mutes get longer for repeat offences. Otherwise there is no fixed ladder of sanctions. Under the teaming rules the whole clan can be held responsible.
Paid Content during a sanction. While a temporary ban or mute is in place you may not be able to use your Paid Content, and we do not extend or refund it for that time. If you are permanently banned for a serious or repeated breach, such as cheating, ban evasion, trading for real money or serious harassment, your Paid Content ends and is not refunded.
Appeals. If you think a sanction was wrong, appeal through a ticket in our Discord server, or by email if you are banned from Discord. Include your Steam ID and explain why you think the decision was wrong. Where we can, a member of staff who did not make the original decision reviews the appeal, and we tell you the outcome. If we overturn a ban, we restore your Paid Content and make up for the time you lost on any Subscription or Wipe Pass, either by extending it or by refunding that part. Our decision on an appeal is final as far as our own process goes, but it does not affect your legal rights.
9. Buying from the Store
Who you buy from. PayNow Services, Inc., a US company, is the merchant of record for every Store purchase and sells Paid Content to you on our behalf. PayNow takes your payment, works out and collects any VAT or sales tax, handles refunds and payment disputes, issues your receipt, and its name appears on your bank statement. We deliver the Paid Content and run the Services it is used on. PayNow's buyer agreement also applies to the payment. We never see or store your card details.
Prices. Store prices include VAT where it applies. Before you pay, the Store and the checkout show the total, the currency and, for a Subscription, how often it renews and what each renewal costs.
What you get. Each Store listing describes what the item includes, which Server it is for, how long it lasts and when it can be used, for example when kits become available after a Wipe and how often they can be claimed. That description is part of our contract with you.
Delivery. Paid Content is delivered to the Steam ID and Server chosen at checkout, usually within a few minutes of payment. If it has not arrived within 24 hours, contact us with your order reference.
- Kits are tied to the Server chosen at checkout and do not work on other Servers. If you picked the wrong Server or Steam ID, open a ticket and we will try to move it.
- A gift is delivered to the Steam ID you enter, and you are responsible for entering it correctly. The recipient must have joined that Server at least once before the gift can be delivered.
- Shop points can only be spent in game on the Server you chose. They reset at every Wipe, and points not spent before a Wipe are lost and not refunded.
- We may adjust Paid Content for game balance, after Rust updates or to fix problems. We will not use this to take away the main features described when you bought it. If a change leaves your Paid Content materially worse than described, section 11 applies.
10. Your right to cancel
UK law normally gives you 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content such as Paid Content, that right ends once delivery starts, but only if you have expressly agreed to delivery starting within the 14 days and acknowledged that you lose the right to cancel.
Paid Content is delivered straight away, so at checkout we ask you to:
- expressly agree that delivery can start immediately, within the 14-day cancellation period; and
- acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once delivery has started.
We confirm this in your order confirmation. Once you have done both and delivery has started, you cannot cancel under the 14-day rule. If delivery has not started, or if we did not ask for and receive both, you can still cancel within 14 days of your purchase by contacting PayNow or us, and you will be refunded in full.
11. Refunds and your legal rights
Except as set out below and in sections 10 and 13, purchases are non-refundable once delivered. That includes changing your mind, items or progress lost in a Wipe, and Paid Content lost because of a sanction under section 8.
Your legal rights are not affected. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Paid Content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not:
- we will repair or replace it, for example by fixing the problem or delivering it again; and
- if we cannot do that, or do not do it within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you can have a price reduction, which can be up to a full refund.
If Paid Content was never delivered and we cannot deliver it, we refund you in full. If you were charged twice, or charged for something you did not order, we refund the extra payment.
To ask for a refund, contact PayNow using the support details on your PayNow receipt email or at paynow.gg, with your order reference and what went wrong. If the problem is with the Paid Content in game, you can also open a ticket and we will fix it or confirm the refund with PayNow. Refunds go back to your original payment method through PayNow.
For free, independent advice about your rights, contact Citizens Advice in England and Wales, Advice Direct Scotland in Scotland, or Consumerline in Northern Ireland.
12. Subscriptions
- Renewal. A Subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (1 month or 3 months, as shown at checkout), and PayNow charges the renewal price shown at checkout until you cancel. Wipe Passes, Lifetime kits, the bundle and shop points are one-off payments and never renew.
- How to cancel. You can cancel at any time. Sign in on the Website, open your profile and press Cancel under Manage subscriptions. You can also cancel in PayNow's billing portal using the email address you paid with, or ask us through a ticket or by email and we will cancel it for you.
- What cancelling does. No further payments are taken. You keep the Paid Content until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then it ends. Cancelling does not refund the current period unless section 10, 11 or 13 applies.
- Price changes. If we raise the price of a Subscription, we will tell you at least 14 days before the new price applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you do not want to pay it.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, the Subscription may be paused or ended, and the Paid Content stops until payment is made.
13. Wipes, Lifetime and closing a Server
Wipes. Wipes are a normal part of Rust. Every Server wipes on its published schedule and on Facepunch's monthly force wipe, and we may run an unscheduled Wipe to fix a serious problem. A Wipe removes buildings, items and progress, including items you received from Paid Content. Your Paid Content itself carries on across Wipes for as long as it lasts, except shop points (section 9).
What Lifetime means. Lifetime Paid Content has no end date and lasts for as long as we run the Server it is for. It means the lifetime of that Server, not your lifetime. We cannot promise that any Server will run forever.
If we close a Server or the Services:
- We will give at least 30 days' notice in our Discord server and on the Website before we permanently close a Server or the Services, unless something outside our control, such as losing our hosting or Facepunch ending support for Rust, makes that impossible.
- Once we decide to close a Server, we stop selling Paid Content for it.
- If another Solar Rust Server is still running, you can ask us to move your Lifetime Paid Content to it.
- We cancel every Subscription for the closing Server so no further payments are taken, and we refund the unused part of any Subscription period or Wipe Pass you have already paid for.
- Apart from this, Lifetime and other one-off purchases end when the Server or the Services close and are not refunded. Your legal rights are not affected.
14. Chargebacks and payment disputes
If something has gone wrong with a payment, contact PayNow using the support details on your PayNow receipt email or at paynow.gg before going to your bank. For problems with the Paid Content in game, open a ticket with us. Most problems are fixed faster that way than through a chargeback.
If a payment is reversed through a chargeback or dispute, the Paid Content bought with it ends. If we reasonably believe a chargeback was raised dishonestly, for example to get money back for Paid Content that was delivered and worked as described, we may also suspend your access to the Services until it is resolved. Raising a genuine dispute will not on its own lead to a ban.
15. Anti-cheat and monitoring
We run anti-cheat and moderation tools on the Servers and in our Discord server to find cheating, ban evasion and rule breaking. We do not publish how they work. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how long we keep it.
16. Intellectual property
The Solar Rust name, logo and branding, and the Website, belong to us. Rust and its assets belong to Facepunch Studios.
Paid Content gives you a personal licence to use it on the Services. It does not make you the owner of any Virtual Item, and you cannot transfer it outside the Services.
17. Other services
You need a Steam account to play, and some features need a linked Discord account. Steam, Discord, PayNow and Facepunch each have their own terms, which also apply when you use their services. We are not responsible for how those services work.
18. Our responsibility for loss or damage
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if we and you both knew it might happen when you made a purchase or started using the Services.
We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, for events outside our reasonable control, or for the normal effects of Wipes, balance changes and downtime described in these terms. The Services are for personal use, so we are not responsible for any business loss, such as lost profit or income.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
19. Ending your use of the Services
You can stop using the Services at any time. You can unlink your accounts on the Link page and cancel any Subscription as described in section 12. We can suspend or end your access under section 8.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes to the Services or to the law. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and we announce significant changes in our Discord server.
Changes do not apply to purchases you made before them, unless the law requires it. If a change affects a Subscription you have, we will tell you before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel first.
21. Other legal terms
If someone else takes over running Solar Rust, we may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to them. We will tell you if this happens, and it will not reduce your rights.
If a court decides that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
22. Governing law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring proceedings in the Scottish courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in the Northern Irish courts. If you live outside the UK, you keep any protection that the mandatory consumer law of your country gives you.
23. Contact and complaints
The quickest way to reach us is a ticket in our Discord server. You can also email support@solarrust.net. If you have a complaint, tell us what happened and what you would like us to do. Payment, billing and refund questions go to PayNow as the seller (section 9).
